Our home plumbing systems are essential to the function of our homes yet extremely complex. For many, when an issue arises they will attempt a DIY remedy to save calling out a tradesperson for their services. However, this can lead to even more issues and an expensive job to remedy the mistakes made. So today, CDL Plumbers Newcastle have shared 2 quick fire mistakes homeowners make all too often.
1.Forgetting to Turn off the Water Now don’t be surprised, this one happens all too often. When you are trying to find that leaky tape or dodgy connection it is essential that you turn off the water before conducting any sort of inspection. If you leave the water on, one loose valve or the removal of a seal could result in an enormous amount of water inundating your home. 2.Making Connections too Tight When making small fixes and alterations many people think the tighter the better. While a good seal relies on a tight fitting, many people make the mistake of over tightening the bolt or fitting. Over tightening can lead to a crack in the fitter and create a whole new world of problems for you. Another issue is that this crack may not appear or be visible straight away and only becomes a problem over time as pressure builds up on the fitting.
